Feel the Earth!

============

It is a day in April

That celebrates all of me

Earth Day it is christened

It’s a time to cherish me.

I am a golden apple tree

That flowers in the spring

In summer golden apples

With joy to you I bring

If cherry blossoms fall and shower

Blessings that are pink

I shy and smile I flow and glide

All my rivers flow and cling

There are birds that fly and butterflies

That met beneath the skies

The woody flavours of the pine

In forests sway in time

I feel so cherished, Oh so loved

I smile and look above

For Mother Earth they call me so

Warm embraces I do bring

Nature, forest flower fruit

Are all a part of me

And if they will be cherished so

The Earth with pride shall be.

Home… The Earth

===============

Home…

This is the word we use to describe Earth.

But do we truly mean what we say?

We simply drop a plastic wrapper on the side walk, as we wait for a taxi to arrive…

We know of the consequences… but do we care...

Do we litter our home?

We leave the tap open as our friend calls to talk about last night's game…

Just a simple movement would save so much water… but do we care…

We leave the television on as our mother beckons on us to do our homework…

Just a push of a button would conserve energy for someone to cook food… but do we care…

We leave the light on in the computer room, as we rush to eat dinner…

The flip of a switch would conserve energy for someone else to light their home… but do we care…

Do we waste our home's resources?

We travel by car, on the otherwise 2 minute journey to school…

Using public transport would provide someone with fresh air to breathe… but do we care…

Do we pollute the air of our home?

The Earth, the only planet that supports life,

The only planet with fresh air to breathe,

The only planet with sparkling water,

The only planet… the only planet!

Earth is unique and exquisite!

But we may not leave it this way…

Our ways are slowly eating into the walls of our home…

Our ways may just cause it to melt away...

We are ignorant…

We have changed the Earth…

Only we can turn it back to the way it was.

Home…

This is the word we use to describe Earth.

But do we truly mean what we say?

 Earth Day Thoughts

================

The burst of red heat rocks the sky

As I glance at the horrid sight

The menacing bomb explodes with might

Like a fierce phoenix in flight

Before we heard the song of the bird

But today it’s dynamite!

The roar of the tiger won't sound again

Nor will we see the elephants might

For they have all been wiped away

Despite our thunderous plight

We throw away our wrappers and food

And call it an open campsite

But we are just polluting the Earth

Do we need me to write not to in hard granite?

We suck the life out of nature

Is the human race a parasite?

Just thinking about all the hideous activities we do

Makes my innards and head go white

We should stop all this war

And give each other respite

However there is room to mend

And to the Earth we could be more polite

Though we should have ended the matter long ago

Ended it when it was still light

But we still have some time

Although we don't have until infinite

We can refuse plastic bags

We should reject it downright

We can walk instead of using cars

Don't think of fossil fuels as your birthright!

And we can join hand in hand

And with nature and fellow beings we’ll unite

So whatever we have can still be salvaged

So whatever we have can go right!

 Our Home - Earth

==============

The world will die so will we,

Save the earth, it’s a priority!

Life is young, do what you can,

Use the staircase, use the fan!

Might not effect us but it will effect our kids,

Do what you can, don’t make bids!

What if it comes faster, the world’s death?

What if it comes faster, the only things left!

Life will get crazy, crazier than it already is,

Help the earth, you’ll never regret this!

So do what can whatever you can do?

Make it last, it will give you peace too.

We will never repay what the earth gives us,

We should just pray and not fuss,

Give it re-birth,

Save the earth.

Do what you have to, come what may,

Well anyways, Happy Earth day!

Clean the Earth

============

Clean the earth it’s filled with trash,

The blue ocean is now black.

Clean the world it’s filled with trash,

The roads are cracked and are almost scratched.

Clean the earth it’s filled with trash,

You lazy people get up and do your bit

Clean the earth it’s filled with trash,

So that we can see the beautiful world around us!

Our Earth

=========

“This is our earth” I say,

It is our responsibility to keep it as colourful as Angelfish.

Good habits should flow over the world like Ganga and Yamuna.

I keep the earth clean is what I say,

But when we are told to prove it, we are delayed.

We still have time; together we will make a better world.

SAVE ME, SAVE ME CRIES THE EARTH.

  The Void

========

We are on a planet where we can live,

The only planet where there is life,

Where runs the lush green grass,

And the shining waters blue.

This earth is made up of us,

Us to make it live,

Beneath the blanket of the sky,

It screams; SAVE ME!

Earth Day

========

Earth day is a very good day to celebrate. I think everyone should promise and obey a sentence on an oath about how they will save the earth. I think earth day should be seen between all areas around the world. I hope everyone promises to save the earth. The earth is dying so help it live. On earth day teachers should take the students out of school to put banners and posters of basic ways to save the earth. A SMALL THING YOU DO WILL SAVE A PART OF THE EARTH SO START THINKING OVER THIS.

India Awake!

==========

India has always needed an insight into what is happening in the world where littering, spitting, pollution and energy wastage is concerned. The poor literacy rate is probably one of the main reasons for this lack of awareness. This lack of awareness leads to consequential unruly behaviour by the people towards Mother Earth. As Dr. Kalam said, “Would you ever dare to litter or spit in a foreign land then, why would you do it in your own country?” I completely agree with Dr. Kalam. Maybe in India there is no effective system of fines and punishment and as a result not many people take it seriously. People abroad are scared to pay those harsh fines hence don’t litter there but come here and do double the littering.

India as a country really needs to improve their way of reaching out to the ordinary people and educate them about these issues. To see educated people only littering and spitting makes my blood boil. This does not only adversely affect the Earth but also causes fatal diseases.

I believe we as the upcoming generation of this world, need to take a step in the right direction and do our bit to make India a better place to live.

As it is Earth Day lets join our hands to make India a better and a happier place to live in and sooner the world.
