Learning when attached to a cause gives a different meaning and direction. The Earth Day was celebrated on 20th April 2012 in School to bring awareness about the environment and its importance. The day was flagged off with a combined assembly with Class IIA presenting a contemporary dance and a dance drama being staged by students of different classes denoting 5 key elements of mother Earth- Water, Land, Fire, Air and Space.
Learning engagements related to language development were organized for students from classes I to V like word search, word ladder, poetry writing, cross word etc.
Students also undertook various hands on activities like best out of waste (class I), badge making (class III) and taking a pledge to keep mother Earth clean (class IV & V).
A clean air drive was taken out by class II, as a part of their current unit, where children went around the school spreading a message to Go Green. Special posters were created for the same during their art classes.
The event brought about awareness to conserve Earth and made our students conscious about the importance of keeping the environment clean and healthy.
